CAMP HEVRA (Friendship Group)

Hevra campers have a great summer ahead filled with a wide range of activities such as crafts, swimming, sports, and music. Don’t miss out on this fulfilling and extraordinary experience! The first week of each session will be traditional camp (except Session 4 will be week 1), and the other week will be focusing on the theme as described below.

SESSION 1: A World of Puppetty  (DURING WEEK 2)

Throughout the week, campers explore the magical art of puppetry! They’ll build their own hand puppets, marionettes, and more, and then bring them to life with movement and expression.

Campers create characters, imaginative stories, and use both pre-made puppets and their own creations. They’ll also learn shadow puppetry and beginner ventriloquism.

SESSION 2: Advanced Magic (DURING WEEK 2)

Ready to take a deep dive into the world of magic? Advanced Magic is perfect for campers who are curious, creative, and eager to learn impressive new tricks—whether this is your first magic camp or you already have some experience.

Campers will explore a thrilling mix of advanced illusions, learning the secrets behind sleight-of-hand, misdirection, and showmanship. They’ll also learn how to perform their tricks with confidence, building skills that make every illusion even more impressive.

SESSION 3:  A Taste of America (DURING WEEK 2)

A cooking camp uniquely dedicated to the diverse cuisine of the various regions in the USA! Spend all week learning to prepare and enjoy food from the different parts of our country. Campers tend to find new foods they love!

SESSION 4: Marine Science Camp* (DURING WEEK 1)

Dive into the excitement of Mission Bay Aquatics Center’s Ocean Exploration Camp! Unleash your inner scientist by testing water quality off MBAC’s dock, proposing hypotheses, and analyzing results. Discover the microscopic world of plankton and get hands on building your underwater explorer. Join the kayak adventure to explore Mission Bay’s ecosystems, catch creatures with a net, and dive into the sensory world of sea creatures.
